About the Classes
Fundamentals of Home Inspection – 120 hours classroom
Our coursework and presentation materials are written by the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE) and follow the content outline of the NHIE and the State of Washington WAC 308-408C. Curriculum includes: site conditions; exterior components; roofing; structural system; electrical system; cooling system; heating system; insulation, moisture management, and ventilation systems; plumbing system; interior components; fireplace and chimney systems; permanently installed kitchen appliances; pool and spa systems; lawn irrigation system; alternative construction methods; analysis and reporting; and business operations. Emphasis is placed on Washington state inspection laws, standards of practice, business practices, communication, and ethics.
The coursework and materials are intended to prepare the student for passing the NHIE and minimally competent to enter the home inspection profession.
Included in the course is the NHIE Home Inspection Manual & Study Guide.
Classes are held Friday & Saturdays, class times are 8:00AM - 6:00PM

Hours: 12 – 10 hour classroom sessions: Jan 11-12, Jan 18-19, Jan 25-26, Feb 1-2 , Feb 15-16, Feb 22-23
Field Training – 40 hours
Learn from our professional home inspectors how to put your classroom experience to work in the field. New home inspectors are required to train with a licensed home inspector in actual houses for a minimum of 40-hours. Included within the 40 hours, a minimum of five actual home inspections done to the standards of practice and must be completed under the supervision of a licensed inspector.
Field training will be tailored to student’s schedule and available inspection dates.
